Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wedding day is June 28th, the venue JUST called me today, and told me they double booked the date. And told ME I have to move my date. I am not going without a fight......but what am I going to do??
They offered my Friday or Sunday, gee thanks its only the busiest wedding season of the month. I have all the vendors booked, the location is over an hour away. Friends & Family have houses rented & hotels booked....Any suggestions would really help...my friends & family are just as angry as I am so they are not very helpful at this point.

Re: Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you sign a contract with the site? If so, you need to read the contract very carefully to see if it states that they can do this.
If it doesn't or you aren't sure, it might be worth it to hire a lawyer to get involved.
If you don't have a signed contract you should start making a backup plan immediately.

Re: Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your reply.
I did sign a contract, I read through it last night, it does not state anything about cancellation policys. I spoke with the director this morning, he asked if I would be open to pushing the time back. I have called all my vendors & I am waiting on call backs, to see what thier time restrictions are.
They probelm is I am getting married in Jamestown, RI, any venues that are not booked will be outrageously out of my budget. The other problem is the other wedding party is in the exact situation I am in, so there is no easy fix.
I really just don't know what to do, I am stressed, overwhelmed, and angry that I have to be rushed on my wedding day.

Make them pay....
They signed the contract. You should make it VERY clear to them that if there is any financial fall-out from this problem, they will be paying for it.
The contract states that you have that location on that day at that time. It is INCREDIBLY unprofessional of them to have made a mistake like that.
I do feel bad for the other bride, but the venue needs to own up to their commitments.
At the least, even if you don't have to change anything, they should give you a discount for the stress and inconvenience they have caused.
Also, make sure you get it in writing that they are demanding the change and report them to the local Better Business Bureau.

I am Sorry!
I am SORRY that you are going through this!
-Do you know which one of you signed a contract first? Only because if the other bride signed it before you then she has the venue, but if you did its yours!
-If for some reason you are forced to find a new venue, it is the current venue that you signed with that broke the signed contract that is responsible for paying for where ever you pick for the new location. They screwed up, there for it is there responsibility to make this right!
Hold them to every word of there contract! If the roles were reversed they would be doing the same to you! If you have to get a Lawyer, and be a *****! Oh, and if you have the venue GET MONEY OFF!
Good Luck, I am really SORRY that you have to go through this, no bride should have to endure this for there wedding. Let me know if you need to talk. sammysangel04@yahoo.com

Re: Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is totally bunk, there is no excuse (on there side). Dont' fault the other bride, I doubt they knew. Is there any chance the reception place is large enough for both at the same time -- it might make for a good story, if you can quickly forge a relationship with the other couple. I dunno, just trying to think outside the box here...
Generally vendors such as caterers, photographers, videographers, DJ's, etc...if given more than a few days notice, will be able to 'push you back (or forward)' by a few hours without much trouble... assuming you picked good vendors in the first place. Changing the day is going to be much, much, much more difficult.
No matter what, you shouldn't have to pay for the site... Paying for your change of plans (say, if the DJ charges you another 100 dollars to stay later) is also a reasonable request, in my opinion.
This should simply not happen. Unacceptable.
I wish you luck.

Don't Except This...
It's the venue's problem, You signed a contract and it serves as a bonding contract. In this case let it be their problem, make them give you that day and let me figure out where the other party should go, it;s not your fault they OVERBOOKED, without leeting you know months in adavnce, so I would come to some kind of solution with them on how they plan on getting this done, but it's their fault & Problem to fix.
Do not let them make this your problem...
Do not stress , maybe an outside wedding can take placd on the site,"Free of charge and perhalps they can create an wonderful wedding for you both "FREE OF CHARGE", if they refuse to accomodate .
look into getting advice from an attroney as well, it can't help just to know what your rights are if you have any???
Make sure you do all this as soon as possible, prolonging this will create an Foreseen disaster...
I wish you luck.
And things WILL TURN OUT they way they should "Sucessfully"
