Help! I need a destination gown!
Any ideas of where to look for a wedding dress to get married on the beach? My fiance and I are going to Nassau, and I am looking for something that is light and flowy, and a little bit above the knees. I cannot find any dresses that are shorter!

Re: Help! I need a destination gown!
there are lots of vintage 50's short wedding dresses that look really elegant

this is a myspace but when you select the dress you want to look at it redirects you to ebay to buy it.

E bay has a huge sellection. The thing about beach atire is you kind of have to have a little figure. Are you sure you want a knee langth? This makes it more difficult but if you shop around especially after x-mas u can find the new spring dressesI think you could go w/many styles just stay away from formal heavy dresses.

Re: Help! I need a destination gown!
I'd suggest looking at bridesmaid dresses in white...for example, these are from Alfred Angelo and come in any of their 46 colors (white is one of the colors) - just picture them all in white:

It'll be hard to find knee length wedding dresses, but not too hard for bridesmaids...shoot for a white bridesmaid dress...I think it'd be perfect!

Alfred Angelo, Dessy, and White House Black Market are all worth a look. We just got married on the beach last week, and my David's bridal dress got trashed--the sweep train was loaded with sticks and sand.

Yes, it's Target's Isaac Mizrahi line. Here are some links:

Some are available in both cream & white.
I'm not sure if they're only available on Target.com or if they're actually be in the stores, though. It would be lovely for a beach wedding, and a great price at $69.99, $59.99 & $49.99!
I'm having a beach wedding and I got my dress at David's Bridal - it's got a cream/ivory halter top with Swarovski crystals & pearls on the bodice & an A-line with just a little bit of train to drag through the sand. It was a discontinued line so it was only $250 and will only need minor alterations. Got it on the first trip out with Mom, which was lucky in more ways than one! ;)
Good luck!

An outdoor ceremony tend to be less formal so you should consider wearing a tea length dress or full gown with light colors. Your bridesmaids can wear short dresses too.:)
