Frosting Help Please!
Well we have decided to use a styrofoam cake instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a real one and just order sheet cakes instead. I am looking for any ideas of what to use for frosting that will last awhile so that i can get it done early and that isn't going to melt, and just get sticky and gross. any help would be really appreciated.

Fondant is your best bet. It is more resistant to temperatures, but it isn't easy to work with.

I agree with sillybride. Fondant is the safe way to go for your wedding cake. Just make sure you have the proper arrangements for the delivery of your wedding cake on your wedding day.
Good luck!

I've worked with fondant many times and it's easy enough as long as you're delicate. You also have many creative options with fondant - if you can mold play-dough, you can make decorations in fondant. Pick up a cake decorating book by Wilton from any craft store. Good luck!
