My Wedding Journal - I don't know where to start!!

So, I got engaged about a month ago and we aren't planning on getting married for 2 years. Is it too soon to start planning? Will I change my mind about our wedding details a thousand times? Where do I start!!!???

Well we're planning on getting married in March 2009. And I feel like I'm procrastinating. So I've decided to get my butt into gear. I think that if you have a set idea of things you like, then you can start getting ideas and keeping a journal of everything. That way you don't feel pressured when it's less than 8 months before your wedding.

well I got engaged in july of 08 and I am just lost in all the wedding planning everyone says you need to get your ceremony and reception place book 8 months before your wedding and then your dress like 6 months before your wedding. I am just like going crazy. people are being flaky and not replying to my emails so it is just getting so frustrating. So in my opinion I would say start planning your ideas now of what you would like yo have and the colors the type of cake and everything you may change your mind but you never know its good to be ahead.

I got engaged in June 2008 and we are planning for October 2009... my first choice was to get married next November (2009), but the venues were booked already! I haven't really done anything yet... but we did get out butts in gear and at least booked the venue... that way at least the date was set and it's somewhat of a starting point... as for the rest of it? You got me? It's something that new brides to be need to figure out I guess? LOL Good luck! :)

Me and My fiance just got engaged 2 weeks ago...and our lifestyle is very hectic we move around every 5 months sometims sooner and sometimes later we never know...and we have to plan our wedding by october...so there is so many things to do and i honestly believe it can never be too soon...having ideas is always great....and it is soo hard to book things with no advance notice...so go ahead...dig ur heels in!!

WOW. I AM NOT ALONE!!!! I got engaged on Nov 29. The wedding date is August 8, 2010. A few people thought we were nuts for waiting so long and jumping into planning since we have so much time. The way I see it, we had no choice. I figured we would do what we can whenever we have time. We both are extremely busy, so we try to plan and figure things out WHENEVER we have time. There are some things that I am completely clueless about. Other things like the style of wedding, location, style of bridesmaids dresses and a few other things, we already have figured out. That way if things get hectic in 2009, atleast there are some things that will be finalized. Sometimes I feel like I'm going nuts with all the planning. I wish everybody well with your planning, your wedding and your happy new life with your new husband.

Oh Cool, I Got Engaged November 16, 2008 And My Wedding Is August 8,2009 Of This Year., There Is A Lot Of Things To Do And Much Detail To Pay Attention To. My Fiance Counted There Is 12 Weeks Before The Wedding And I Almost Fainted. I Keep Changing My Mind, But I Am Glad I Have A Long Engagement This Way I Can Pick Out Everything I Want And Have Some Time To Breath.. I Wish You The Best Everyone...

I just got engaged may 22, we are planing for june 2010, which is only a lil over a year. I def jumped right into it. I bought a book, scheduled and apt to look at dresses and started looking at venues. It really depends on the person when you start. i am ocd like so everything has to be perfect. Do what makesyou feel comfortable, just don't put it off.

The same thing happened to me...we got engaged and the date we picked was over a year and a half away! I started doing things immediately...the way I looked at it, the more I get done ahead of time, the less I'd have to do as the day gets closer- which means less stress! Just one tip though...if you get the dress well in advance, stop looking at other dresses immediately! There will always be better dresses- the one you have is FINE!

Im on the same boat as you. I just got engaged in June 2009 and we plan to get married in 2 years. So many people are asking why we are waiting sooo long but there are alot of reasons why. But i did start looking at venues and at least having an idea of where I want to have it. I dont think its ever too early to start planning. I think two years gives you enough time to save money, and explore all of your options from the location, to the cake, the dress and everything else!!!

Wow! I feel behind from the start. We just got engaged two weeks ago and have set our date for July of 2010... less than 11 months. I'm scrambling to find venues for the ceremony and reception. And we're planning a wedding in NY while we live in VA so it makes it that much more difficult. I hope it gets easier once the ceremony and reception is booked.
