Something Old ... Something Blue ...
We have an old custom is the US, that originated from our English /Victorian ancestors, where it is good luck for the bride to have certain items in her possession:
Something old, something new,
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in your shoe ...
(also said 'a penny is you left shoe')
My question is "how many brides still follow this tradition?".:)
Read more about it on Google:

little tradition lil twist
Most brides I know still do that. I plan on carrying on the tradition also, i think its good luck. But I plan on adding some untraditional twist to my ceremony.

I'd say most as well. It's actually quite easy to follow... I think that's one of the reasons it persists.

Re: Something Old ... Something Blue ...
I married within a Cajun family. My bachelorette party was in New Orleans and someone was kind enough to give me a pearl necklace with blue flowers. It was the perfect thing to wear the day of the wedding reception.
