Wedding Checklist

SORT MY CHECKLIST BY:

9 months and earlier

	Announce the engagement

	Select wedding date

	Hire professional wedding consultant

	Determine type of wedding: location, formality,time of day, number of guests, etc

	Determine budget and how expenses will be shared

	Develop a recordkeeping system for payments made

	Consolidate guest lists and organize as follows:1) must invite, 2) should invite, 3) nice to invite

	Decide if children should be included among guests

	Select and reserve ceremony site

	Select and reserve the officiant

	Select and order bridal gown and headpiece

	Determine color scheme

	Send engagement notice, with a photograph, to the local newspaper

	Buy a calendar, note all important events: showers, luncheons, parties, etc

	If ceremony or reception is at home, arrange for any necessary home/garden improvements

	Obtain passport, visa(s), birth certificate, if needed for marriage license or honeymoon

	Select and book photographer

	Select maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, and ushers (approx one usher per 50 guests)
