    OVERVIEW

The diversity of Maui is revealed around every bend and beyond every rainbow. Drive up to the moon-like crater at the summit of Haleakala, and you can almost touch the sun. Come back down to earth and explore 42 miles of beaches. Travel the winding road to Hana, past waterfalls and tropical forests and explore the historic whaling town of Lahaina. Maui's wonders never cease, from whale watching to golf, from award winning restaurants to fabulous hotels and condominiums priced for every budget.

Maui has direct air service, from the US mainland and Canada, to Kahului Airport. Frequent departures make for convenient scheduling and a variety of travel options. Carriers that fly direct are United, American, Delta, TWA, Hawaiian and Aloha. Charter flights are also available from a number of North American cities.

For those travelers flying into Honolulu International Airport on the island of Oahu inter island service is provided by Hawaiian, Aloha and Aloha Island Air. Over 60 flights daily make "island-hopping" an easy and pleasurable experience. It is only a 20 minute flight between most islands and Maui with no extra charge for the spectacular "flight-seeing" that is one of Hawaii's most exciting attractions.

Maui also has 2 smaller commuter airports, in Hana and West Maui, serviced by Aloha Island Air. Holo-Holo is Hawaiian for "day-tripping." For Mauians and visitors alike Maui offers an unmatched inventory of Holo-Holo options.

For most Maui visitors the lure of the island's sightseeing opportunities means a rental car, or van, is the preferred mode of transportation. This makes it east to to toss the kids, snorkel gear, coolers, cameras and sunscreen in the car and take off for destinations unknown.

However, others prefer a more structured day, including a desire to leave the driving to an experienced and knowledgeable island guide. If this is your style Maui delivers. A guided tour will assure you an experience with one or more of our Island's top spots on the agenda.
