    OVERVIEW THINGS TO SEE AND DO
    Beaches:
    The beaches of Barbados range from long, narrow strands of sand lapped by calm waters to rockbound, cove-type beaches that are scenic but pounded by high Atlantic surf. The following is a guide to some of the best beaches on the island. All beaches on Barbados are open to the public and public accessways must be provided. Most hotels will charge beachgoers to use their facilities which can range from dressing rooms, restaurants, bars, beach chairs, towels and watersports concessions.

    The Gold Coast:
    This refers to the beaches on the calm west coast and swinging into the southeastern parts of the island.

    East Coast:
    The waters off the beaches on this side of the island are not safe for swimmers. The Atlantic sea contains undercurrents and sends large swells up against the shores. It is not wise to ever swim alone are where warning flags or signs are posted. The coastline is ragged and rockstrewn and is incredibly scenic, and the strong ocean winds are refreshing and inspiring.

    Note: Use caution when on the East coast beaches due to high surf and undertow.

    Caves
    Caves in Barbados come in all sizes and shapes. Some even have trams! This is the perfect place to explore a cave.

    Watersports
    Barbados is a haven for all types of watersports.

    Golf
    Sunny weather , cooling tradewinds and exotic landscapes have combined to produce great golfing vacations on championship Golf courses on Barbados.

    Hiking
    Highly organized and run by a national trust, hiking in Barbados is suited to all fitness levels.

    Horseback riding
    There are 8 riding schools/stables offering rides on the beach are up into the countryside.

    At Night:
    As the sun sets the action shifts from the beaches and clear waters to a wide selection of night time dining, dancing and entertainment fun! Take in an exciting murder mystery show, a romantic cruise, a historic dinner play, or jump to the beat in nightclubs throughout the St. Lawrence Gap.     Dancing
    Whether it's going into one of the clubs on the famous St. Lawrence Gap, or a fancy hotel lounge, there's some great dancing to be had on Barbados.

    Dining
    Dining is an interesting and enjoyable experience in Barbados. Besides the fresh bounty drawn from the sea, the island keeps thousands of acres under cultivation so that restaurants can receive fresh vegetables, fruits as well as island grown pork, chicken and beef.
