The magic document that allows you to change your name is a completed, certified marriage license—something that's only available after the ceremony, so you can't start officially altering your moniker before the big day. Remember to make all your honeymoon reservations in your original name, since that name will be on your passport, driver's license, and credit cards.

You can start getting the word out ahead of time to friends and family (plenty of people will be asking you about it during bridal showers and at the reception). Let your office know, so you'll have new business cards and a new e-mail address when you get back from your honeymoon. You can also order cards engraved with your new married name to send out as thank-you notes—a great way to spread the news to everyone who was involved in the wedding.

How to enter: 
Join for free and then become a friend of The Wedding Club on from 10/1/09 to 11/30/09 (that is it - as easy as it gets).  Winning bride will be chosen by random and announced on 12/1/09.


1.  Only currently engaged couples qualify for drawing.  Couples must be 18 years of age or older and US citizens to qualify.

2.  All prizes, but the Sample Engagement Photo Package, will be mailed to the winner via Media Mail at one time and to one address. 

3.  For the Sample Engagement Photo Package - winner must live within 75 miles of 92026 for Glenn Currie Photography to travel to you. If you live more than 75 miles from 92026, then you must be willing to travel to meet with the photographer or forfeit the prize.  Choice of location, date and time of free photosession will be scheduled upon meeting. No purchase of additional products or services required.

4.  No purchase of products or services required to enter.

5.  None of the prizes listed above have any cash value and cannot be exchanges for any other goods or services that the companies listed above might offer.  Prize package is non-transferable and the winning couple must sign a Release of Liability with The Wedding Club before prizes are released.  If you are unwilling or unable to use one or all of the prizes, the prizes will become null and void without compensation of any kind.

The Wedding Club (who will henceforth be referred to as TWC) is not owed or operated by the above named company.  Nor does TWC have any control and/or responsibility over given prize.   Winning couple shall release TWC of any and all liability of above listed prize.  The winning couple also confirmed they are legitimately getting married.  Any and all disputes, questions and/or concerns must be made to the above company directly and not through TWC.   TWC will not act on the behalf of the winners nor the above named company and are not responsible for misinformation given by either the couple or above named company.  TWC will not be held responsible or liable for missing, lost, damaged, stolen prize and/or certificate.  It is the winner’s responsibility to secure the prize and/or certificate from the above named company.

Furthermore, the above name, gives permission for the use of photo (provided by the above name), without compensation, in any matter that The Wedding Club deems necessary in future marketing and advertising.  One photo of both the bride and groom must be emailed in .jpg to The Wedding Club (along with this signed contract) before prize is awarded.

The Wedding Club shall have full power to interpret and/or amend these rules and regulations which in its discretion shall be in the best interest of the organization.  The decision of The Wedding Club must be accepted as final in any dispute with winning couple or any situation not covered by these rules and regulations.

All terms and conditions of this agreement are printed herewith and The Wedding Club will not be bound by any agreement or promise not herein stated.

In San Diego there are hundreds of wedding venues to select from. With everyone being stressed for time and money, it is important for you to know what you want before seeing what is available. As in buying a house, the search process can be overwhelming. The key to staying focused while researching venues is to have a checklist of priorities and only visit venues that are within your budget. Your prioritized checklist may include items such as: your date being available, accommodating your number of guests, type of food, bar packages, indoor/outdoor reception, coordinator included, types of views, options to use your own vendors, parking, changing room, photography locations, geographical locale, etc.
