The
name says it all. Delicate and lacy, Queen
Anne's Lace
looks like the lace used in bridal gown design. It is a
white, flat flower comprised of
hundreds of small florets on a
straight 1 1/2 to 3
foot stem. Actually, it is a summer
wildflower that
grows in the field, and most florists do not
carry it.
But do not gather it directly from the field as
it may
bear chiggers or other small critters. Once picked,
it
has a lifespan of only about 3 days. Apart from
informal wildflower arrangements, it can also be
used in the
hair to complement the wedding gown. |
